My son attends this school,their standard of teaching is excellent .
I had reason to call this school at one point with regards to a general non-teaching issue & the number was answered by a clerk/telephonist by the name of Louise (E).My query was not handled correctly as she had not listened nor understood the nature of my call; this was followed by a number of petty arrogant & disparaging remarks being made as well as denial of the incorrect information that she had given me when I questioned it.I asked to be put through to her manager who after a lengthy & timewasting conversation turned out to be typist/ PA, again displaying a petty self-important & parochial attitude.It also transpired that the telephonist/call taker during the first telephone call had written a report/log of events concerning my call where I had, as ever, remained polite & professional (I am a lawyer) & had logged a completely different version of events to what had actually taken place.With my query remaining unresolved & my unsatisfactory dealings with these self-important & unhappy clerical staff, I eventually managed to speak to the headteacher who was the first person to listen & take on board my concerns.Having listened carefully, the head teacher was able to ascertain that both staff members had not acted in the correct manner & a sincere apology was given. During my call, I also highlighted the ludicrous procedure of staff members creating logs & reports where a whole host of lies are fabricated for no other reason than self-preservation in order that the staff member is not disciplined or loses their seemingly poorly paid clerical position & job security. Putting it in writing does not make it true. These people work in a school & should be setting an example to children not preserving their own positions at any cost. Perhaps this is the endemic culture of this establishment.
