I have used this branch a number of times over the years and always had great service and best of all great cars, the latest car is a BMW 320i M sport shadow edition to take on holiday in Europe - amazing
p--s poor !even with a power problem , so called ( what happened to the old days pen and pencil) took 45 mins to collect car that was pre booked . then told it's being cleaned , even thou I visibly could see it in their unit .... no one near it ? then guy took forever getting it out of unit as said "it's a big car " .... felt like saying .. but it's a big unit !!on my way just under an hour joke !!
Staff were not to blame, but Thrifty policies are so restrictive - wanted bank statements, utility bills etc. to prove my address as it was the first time of hiring through them - even though I had my driving licence and passport with me and had lived at the same address for 4 years.... so much hassle, no other hire companies require all this - (I have used Avis, Europcar and Enterprise, they are all much more straightforward to deal with). Then they refused me hiring the vehicle because I had too many points on my licence and it was 'against company policy' - all in front of several other customers - I felt so frustrated and humiliated. I went straight to Enterprise and told them up front how many points I had on my licence. Hired out a car no problem and only required driving licence as proof of identity/address. Seriously, do not use Thrifty.
I used to hire from here a fair bit but since putting there deposit up to 500 I no longer entertain it. When it was 250 it was great, friendly service, cars always clean and tidy, good on petrol and diesel couldn't fault them but since putting there prices up they have lost me as a customer and I'm sure I can't be the only one as I don't see as many thrifty vans and cars around as I used to.
